Welcome to Chicktime Smalltown
With great excitement we announce that Chicktime Smalltown is now a reality! The overwhelming response to our "kickoff" party confirmed what Dixie, Gaye and I have been dreaming about - that the women of our communities are ready to join together and pool their resources and talents to make a difference in the world.
Chicktime Smalltown is all about women Getting Together, Getting Involved and Doing Good. How we do this? By awarding 100% of membership contributions to non-profit organizations voted for by members. Beyond that, if you have a heart for service, get further involved with volunteer opportunites. We anxiously look forward to the impact that 62 plus members, and growing, can collectively make. Already we have identified numerous potential projects along with many service opportunities for all to participate in.
The challenge ahead of us is to remain engaged and focused on building a foundation of service. Tell your friends about Chicktime and let them know how they can be involved.

Volunteers in Action & Events
Chicktime Smalltown Volunteering
A great group of volunteers came together to learn what opportunities were available and to brainstorm ideas for upcoming volunteer projects. We were so delighted to know that Chicktime Smalltown is blessed with so many creative and talented women with willing hearts. It has been said before but bears repeating...you are all truly amazing! Big Springs Ranch for Children is one of the first programs for Chicktime Smalltown to be involved in. Big Springs is dedicated to providing long-term therapeutic care and substitute parenting for abused and abandoned children from all over Texas. Chicktime's Big Springs Ranch for Children program is scheduled for a kick-off at 8:30 AM on September 26, 2009. It will take at least 8 volunteers each month to give the girls the special attention that they so deserve.
There is no limit on the volunteers that can participate, so if you want to volunteer, please send a quick e-mail to Gaye Morris gayemorris2@yahoo.com and let us know that we can count on you. Membership
The membership committee is working on increasing our membership; our motto is "EACH ONE REACH ONE." So, if every member can get one new amazing woman to join we will not only reach our goal of 100 members this first year; we will exceed it! Our membership count is at 62. We are also working on selling t-shirts and bracelets...and don't forget we have onsies for the little chicks! We have ordered some regular style t-shirts for those members that are interested. When we are volunteering or at a function we would like all the "Chicks" in a Chicktime T-shirt. Please contact us if you need any information regarding membership/pledge forms or t-shirts.

Chicktime Smalltown Grants
THE GRANT PROCESS
Chicktime Smalltown will award at least two grants, and hopefully more, depending on the amount of contributions we have at the end of Year One. The theme for Year One is "Transforming the Lives of Women and Children". The Grants Committee will get the word out to non-profit organizations (that our members recommend) to apply for a grant . Grant requests can be from local or surrounding area non-profits that members feel passionate about. Please put on your thinking caps and let us know of a non-profit dear to your heart that's involved in "Transforming the Lives of Women and Children" that you would like for us to solicit for a grant proposal.

About Chicktime Smalltown
Our Mission
Chicktime ... Encouraging women to develop their passions and use their gifts to make the World a better place for the next generation.
Chicktime ... Committed to exposing a greater number of women to philanthropy (informed, deliberate and sustained giving) through education, inspiration and service.
Our Beliefs and Values
We believe a diverse group of women joining together can make a big difference by pooling their collective talents and resources. We believe women can be powerful inspirational role models reaching their full giving potential when called to service. We value all women equally - we respect their differences and encourage their passions as they cheerfully serve.
How does it work?
Chicktime Smalltown is open to all women who wish to participate. All members make the same annual pledge of $250. All members have an equal vote and an equal opportunity for service. Beyond this, each member can be as engaged or uninvolved as she chooses.
Why does it work?
100% of our membership donations will go to the recipients of our grants. Chicktime operates as an all-volunteer staff and taps into the talents of our amazing members.
